Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has revealed that the expedition of Dhekunu Arumaaz traveling to islands of Southern Maldives in order to gain support for a transitional arrangement in order to reach the new the constitution as well as to hold elections under the new constitution, stopped yesterday at Kibidhoo of Thaa Atoll.
According to MDP members of the expedition was warmly received by the people of Kibidhoo. MDP said Kibidhoo people received the members of the Dhekunu Arumaz with national songs and cultural dances such as “langiri dance”.
MDP also revealed that expedition last Tuesday also stopped at Magoodhoo of Faafu Atoll and Kudahuvadhoo of Dhaalu atoll. MDP revealed that the expedition’s door to door team; seminar team work to establish friendly relations with the people was very successful. MDP also revealed that the top officials of the expedition met and held talks with members of Island Development Committees of both islands.
The seminar held at Magoodhoo of Faafu Atoll was attended by 120 men and 40 women from the island said MDP.
MDP also informed that the meeting at Kudahuvadhoo of Dhaalu Atoll was held at foot ball ground of that island and was attended by approximately 400 people.
The meeting at Kibidhoo was held at Thaa Kibidhoo School and was attended by 400 people. MDP also said top officials of the expedition met with members of Island Development Committee.
