Mohamed Saleem and Ahmed Mahloof took their oaths of office before President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, as President’s Members of the People’s Majlis and the People’s Special Majlis, respectively. Mohamed Saleem also took his oath of office before the President, as President’s Member of the People’s Special Majlis.
Mohamed Saleem was appointed to the People’s Majlis following the dismissal of Mr. Imad Solih as President’s Member of the People’s Majlis earlier yesterday. Prior to the appointment, Saleem was serving as President’s Member of the People’s Special Majlis.
The swearing-in ceremonies were held yesterday morning at the President’s Office. The oaths were administered by the Chief Justice Mohamed Rasheed Ibrahim.
The ceremony to swear-in Mohamed Saleem as Member of the People’s Majlis and People’s Special Majlis was attended by the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Ahmed Zahir, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Mohamed Hussain and the Secretary-General of the People’s Majlis, Ahmed Mohamed.
The ceremony to swear-in Ahmed Mahloof as Member of the People’s Special Majlis was attended by the President of the People’s Special Majlis, Mr. Qasim Ibrahim, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Mohamed Hussain and the Secretary-General of the People’s Majlis, Ahmed Mohamed.
