MDP prepares for Dhekunu Arumaz

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has revealed that an expedition dubbed Dhekunu Arumaz has been planned to the southern atolls of the Maldives to seek support for a formation of a transitional government in order to successfully reach the new constitution and thereby hold free and fair elections.

The main opposition party (MDP) revealed that the expedition to gain support for an interim or transitional arrangement to the southern atolls will commence on the 21 of this month and is expected to end on the 28 of this month.

“The expedition will depart Male’ at 9 pm on the 21 of this month and will return to Male’ on the 28 of this month” revealed MDP.

MDP also revealed that the Dhekunu Arumaz will also utilize the same boat used by the expedition of Uthuru Arumaz and they will be joined by Adhaalath Party, Islamic Democratic Party, Social Liberal Party as well as New Maldives Movement.

MDP further reveal that seminars, rallies and gathering to provide information regarding transitional government will be held in the course of the expedition.

Uthuru Arumaz of the MDP led coalition received tremendous support from the atolls of the north Maldives. Uthuru Arumaz was warmly received by the nearly all the islands of the north except Meedhoo of Raa Atoll where there were no support at all for the coalition cause.
