The Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives, Dr. Gregory Alan French, made his farewell call to President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom yesterday afternoon.
In the meeting, President Gayoom thanked Dr. French for his efforts to further enhance bilateral ties between the Maldives and Australia. The President Gayoom also highlighted the valuable contribution of the Australian Government for the development of Maldives, especially the educational opportunities offered to Maldivian students.
The Australian High Commissioner noted the close friendly relations existing between the two countries and said that it was a great pleasure to serve the Maldives as his Country’s High Commissioner to the Maldives. In light of the development achieved by the Maldives in the past few years, Dr. French commented that Maldives has excellent investment opportunities. Further he discussed about the Presidents reform program.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Presidential Affairs, Mohamed Hussain, Deputy Minister of President’s Office, Dr. Hala Hameed and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dunya Maumoon.
