Dr. Luthfy says transitional govt. is important

A transition government is a very important before the Presidential elections being held under a new constitution, said Dr. Musthafa Luthfy, the former Tourism Minister who is now working to form a political party.

In an interview given to Miadhu Daily, Dr. Musthafa Luthfy said that a transition government under the new constitution is important for a free and fair election and he does not believe that the current government can hold such elections.

“As a constitution dissolves and a new constitution comes into effect, a transition government is very important before the presidential elections. We need a transition government to hold a free and fair election as a person who have ruled for so many years is also standing for the election” He further said that he does not believe that a government in which a person who has ruled for such a long time can hold a free and fair election.

“I support the transition government as I believe that the upcoming elections have to be very independent, free and fair. When a person who has ruled for so many years is standing for the elections, it is not sure that the current government can hold the elections free and fair. All elections the government held in the past was also not so free. At that time, it was not that many people compete in the e lection, but still it was like that.

Dr. Musthafa Luthfy further stated that the government will do what ever they could do to win the elections, as this election would be very competitive.
