Ahmed Mohamed said that Fuvahmulak office received the funds to payback in April 2007 and work progressed. He said that they targeted to complete work by 30th November 2007, but due to various difficulties they were unable to complete word by the target set.

He said that there were some palm trees which the owners were not identified and so, they have to file the case to the court to find the owner and also lack of staff at atoll office at that time also caused delay.

Ahmed Mohamed also said that vehicles and equipments for the projects have to be brought there by Public works and last Thursday, they asked Public works for the equipments, but Public works have told them to send the details of the road project. He said that details were sent yesterday and work is expected to start within 2 weeks.

Usually, land plot given for housing is taken from the owner if the house is not constructed within 2 years, but due to what has happened in Fuvahmulak, 3 years had been given to those who took land for housing.
