Dr. Mohamed Latheef President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has said that success of the Civil Service Commission was a prerequisite to the success of the reform work going on in the country. He made the statement speaking at the first meeting of the temporary Advisory Committee.

Dr. Latheef said the objective of the meeting was to introduce the Civil Service Act, discuss the draft of the civil service code of conduct and to share information on the work being carried out to implant the Civil Service Act.

At the meeting held yesterday night discussions were held on ways to improve and widen the services provided to the people. Discussions were also held on formulating regulations to facilitate such services.
Members also talked the dignity and self respect of the civil service commission members and the importance of maintaining such respect and dignity while in the service of the commission.

The temporary advisory committee of the civil service commission comprises of officials from the president’s office, officials various government ministries, officials from Attorney General’s office and members of the civil service commission. The chair of the meeting held yesterday night was the president of the commission Dr. Mohamed latheef.

Civil Service Commission was established by the government on 23 October 2007.
