Report: Soodh

Maldives Coast Guard has revealed that rate of diving mishaps increase each year with easterly winds. Coast Guard reveals that such diving accidents occur due to failure to monitor and supervise divers and apparent disregard to the prevalent tides and currents of the season. Maldives Coast Guard reveals that although resorts and Coast Guard has worked hard in many rescue operations those who get lost in such mishaps are sometimes never found.

Coast Guard has stated the lack of attention given to safety measures by the operators of diving boats and organizers of water sports has resulted in many mishaps. In this regard Coast Guard reveals that 4 people involved in two separate diving expeditions have been lost yesterday. The 4 divers were lost near Bathalaa Island Resort and Biyaadhoo Island resort. However Coast Guard says that the 4 has now been found.

Maldives Coast Guard has called all involved in water sports and diving to pay particular attention to prevalent tide and current and to take necessary safety measures before embarking on diving expeditions.
