A young man of 21 has died has died in ADK hospital while undergoing medical treatment to injuries sustained in a homicide.According to reports from police the young man who died is identified as Ali Ishaaru of Kubura/ Henviru. Police said that according to the doctor who examined Ali Irushan , in addition to 3 stab wounds to his right thigh, he received injuries to his neck as well. Police last night said that they were in the process obtaining a detailed account of injuries sustained by Ali Irushan.
Ali Irushan died last night while undergoing medical treatment at ADK Hospital at around 10.30 last night. According to Police, some gangs caused unrest on the streets of Male’ causing damage to public property. In this regard Police reports that the gang broke the glass door of shop in Henveiru. Police further informs that 21 young men have been arrested in connection to the homicide and disturbances that occurred last night. In addition Police revealed the wooden clubs, sticks, iron rods, knives and swords used by gang has been confiscated.
Maldives Police reports that the matter is now being investigated by the Serious Crime Unit and urged the general public to share any information that has connection to the homicide as well as the disturbances.
Large crowds gathered near ADK when the deceased Ali Irushan was taken for treatment. The gang who caused disturbances, too, was also near ADK Hospital and vandalized the vehicles used by police.
