National Unity Alliance has urged Maldivian Police Officers not to intimidate the islanders. The Alliance made the appeal through the members of the Uthuru Arumaz touring northern islands of Maldives to gain support for an interim arrangement in order to make the transition to the new constitution.
Members of the Uthuru Arumaz speaking at the rally held in Shaviani Funadhoo on the 2 of this month called on the people to draw strength from one another and to rise above fear to achieve success. Islanders of Funadhoo reveal that the rally of the opposition Alliance was the first political rally held in that island.
Memebrs of the Uthuru Arumaz commenced work in Shaviani Funadhoo at 7.00 in the morning on the 2 of this month says the Alliance. Preparation of the school hall, distributing and fixing posters and distributing the appeal letters to the residents were undertaken informs Alliance.
Uthuru Arumaz team departed Funadhoo to Kulhdhuhfushi around noon yesterday and was accompanied 5 young people from Funadhoo.
