The main opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) has called for the resignation of the officer in charge of Funadhoo police station. Anni made the call at the rally held in Funadhoo to gain support for an interim arrangement. The rally was organized by the members of the National Unity Alliance traveling with Uthuru Armaz.
Speaking at the rally Anni accused the in charge of the police station of attempts to intimidate the people. He further called for responsible officers of the police force to prevent such intimidation of the people.
“The act of patrolling this building while this meeting is going, the reason is intimidation of the people, to confuse the people in to believing that this is against the law” said Anni.
He further called on the law enforcement agencies to stop the intimidation of the people and to engage themselves with their designated work.
At the rally in Fundhoo, all the top leaders of the Alliance traveling with Uthuru Arumaz spoke on the formation of an interim arrangement in order to reach the new constitution.
