Ministry of Education has revealed that the Ministry would provide assistance to preschools as practiced in the previous years.
Shafeeu, Director at the Ministry said the assistance to preschools across the country would be provided and opportunity to apply for assistance would be opened next month.
Director Shafeeu further revealed that assistance normally would depend on the number of students studying in the school and that schools which have more than 15 students would be given Rf.2000 per month. Schools which have 100 students or more will receive Rf. 4000 per month and schools which have 200 or more will receive Rf.6000 say Director Shafeeu.
However many preschool owners have said that they did not receive any assistance even after the filing the applicable assistance form. According to Munnwar , owner of Amaan Preschool of Maradhoo, Amaan Preschool did not receive the assistance provided to their teachers as promised by the Ministry.
“Even last year we had more than 80 students studying in LkG and UKG classes, we did submit the form, but even when the year ended no assistance was received, we will apply for assistance this year” said owner of Amaan Preschool Munnawar.
Many Preschool owners have said that the government does not give attention to Preschools. Speaking on the lack of assistance to Amaan Preschool, Director Shafeeu said he would investigate the matter.
