Dr. Afrashim says he has not contradicted mainstream Islam

Dr. Afrashim has revealed that he has contradicted mainstream Islam and has refuted the rumors that less people than usual are coming to the congregation at the Islamic Center as he is the one to lead the congregation now.

There had been rumors earlier that about 25 people left Maaveyo Miskiy when they knew that Dr. Afrashim would lead the Friday prayers. In an exclusive interview given to Miadhu Daily last night, Dr. Afrashim refuted these comments. He said that when he was about to start the sermon at Friday prayers that day, 3 people and one child left the mosque and no one else left the mosque.

“Even those who oppose my talks are wiser than them. Nobody wants to see separation in the prayer which symbolizes the unity of the Islamic Ummah” Dr. Afrashim said.

He further said that most people come to Islamic Center due to its environment and comfort and it was not because a certain person was leading the congregation in prayer. He said that the number of people coming to pray there have become less as these are the holidays.

“Salat is a prayer which shows the unity of Muslims. So even if a few numbers of people leaves the mosque, it’s a problem. I call upon everyone not to do such things and to work to further strengthen Islamic unity” Dr. Afrashim said.
