
Mohamed Nasheed (Colonel) member of the Parlimentary Group of Social Liberal Party(SLP) participating in the tour said the Alliance team left Lhaviani Atoll to Noonu Atoll with the full support of the people of the Lhaviani and that in Lhaviani they witnessed the working of the spirit of reform in full gear.
“We did not see the same kind things we saw when MDP Chairperson last visited Naifaru, we did not see that broken spirit this time” said Colonel.
Colonel said in Naifaru they saw that the people were keen to welcome change and new ideas and that Naifaru people had really digested democracy.
Main opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) said that the Lavaini stop was a very successful one. Anni said that more 1500 signatures have already been collected for the People’s Petition initiated by the Alliance. Anni further said that this was better than he anticipated.
When Maidhu asked Mohamed Hussain Manik Vice President of Islamic Democratic Party (IDP) for his comments on the Lhaviani Atoll stop, he said the first of Uthuru Armaz was a very successful stop.
National Unity Alliance (NUA) held a rally in Naifaru of Lhavaini Atoll to brief the people of Naifaru on the interim or transitional government.
Alliance has revealed that first stop of the Uthuru Armaz at Lhaviani was very successful filled with hope. Alliance yesterday left from Lhavaini to Noonu Atoll and was warmly received by the residents of Manadhoo of that Atoll. The meeting held at Manadhoo was attended by many people from neighboring islands as well as by a large number of Manadhoo residents including Manadhoo Island Chief.
Alliance last night organized a meeting with Kudafaree people and briefed them on transitional government.
