Speaker of the special Majlis Qasim Ibrahim has condemned the assassination attempt on Predient Gayoom carried out on the 8 of this month at Ha. Huvarafushi .Speaker Qasim made the condemnation speaking at the opening of the Special Majlis Sitting held yesterday morning.
In condemning the attack he said that it was a cowardly and unjust act without any principles.
The first agenda item was the debate on the amendments proposed to the President’s Bill. In this regard 33 Members spoke and when the time for Majlis was over many other Members were waiting to speak.
The Bill on the President sent to the Majlis by Drafting Committee contains 18 articles. A total of 66 amendments were proposed to the Bill. The Sitting was chaired by the Speaker of the Special Qasim Ibrahim.
