Ministry of Education has revealed that all text books and other stationeries needed by students for the forthcoming academic year will be provided by the government.
Ministry of Education reveals that texts books and stationeries will be provided free of charge for government schools and other schools that are included in the registry at the ministry. In this regard the ministry says that arrangements are underway for the issue of these books and stationeries.
Ministry further reveals that as the issue of free text books and materials are a new concept, and as free books and materials have to be provided to nearly all schools in atolls, arrangements are being made so that parents and guardians will face little or no difficulty in obtaining the free issue. Ministry reveals that booklist will be available from all schools on that first of December 2007 and that with each booklist a voucher will be given which can used to buy the necessary books and stationeries from book shops.
Ministry urges all parents and guardians to collect the vouchers along with booklists and purchase the text books and materials as required in a timely manner.
