MDP Deputy President Ibrahim Hussain Zaki has said that at a time when the country is going through considerable change, if a transitional government is not established, then the country may have to face the bitter experiences that other countries have experienced in the past. He made the statement speaking at a news conference held on Thursday.

“If a transitional instrument is not set up the country may face great losses, at a time of changes, a transitional instrument is necessary in order avoid disturbances and unrest most countries went through in the past, many countries have faced great dangers” said Zaki.

Zaki further said that lessons must be learned from our past experiences and that such a transition must afford the security and protection the citizens may require.

At the conference held to reveal the steps that would be taken by MDP in order to reach the new constitution, MDP President Dr. Munawar said that when the new constitution takes effect, positions of power in the government and Members of the Parliament would be held by people elected under the new constitution.

“When the new constitution takes effect, there will be no elected people, as such until such time as elections take place and people are appointed to responsible positions, there must people to run the government”.
