Maldivian gets top Commonwealth Youth position

Ahmed Mahloof, Maldivian representative at the meeting of the Commonwealth Youth for Asia region held at Islamabad from 3 to 7 of November, has been elected as the Chairperson of Commonwealth Youth for Asia region.

Mahloof was previously the Deputy Chairperson of the Commonwealth youth for Asia region. This the first time a Maldivian has been elected to that position reports Youth Ministry. As such Youth Ministry sees this achievement as an honor for all Maldivian youths.

Mahloof had previously acted as a commonwealth observer to Sierra Leone during the country’s presidential elections at the invitation of the Secretary General of Commonwealth. This too is a Maldivian first reports the Youth Ministry.

In addition, Mahloof is scheduled to attend the Commonwealth Youth Forum to be held in Uganda from 12 to 14 of this month. He is also scheduled to attend a meeting with heads of state of 10 commonwealth countries later in the month in Uganda.
