MDP representative Maria Ahmed Didi said with consecutive dictatorial regimes the people were shaped to believe that the powers of the government should be concentrated in one individual’s hand. She noted the government’s lack of initiative to improve the women’s right and offered the recent appointment of a woman Attorney General as clear proof of her statement. Maria noted that the responsibilities of the newly appointed Attorney General were severely curtailed.
