HRCM gains membership of APF

Human Rights Commission of Maldives, HRCM, has become a member of the Asia Pacific Forum of the National Human Rights Institutions, APF according to News Release issued by HRCM yesterday. HRCM gained membership at the 12th Annual Meeting of the APF being held in Sidney, Australia from 24th to 27th September 2007.

The Meeting is hosted by Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.
Asia Pacific Forum is the leading regional human rights organization in Asia Pacific. The APF advances human rights in Asia Pacific through its member organizations. They facilitate the formation of and growth of national human rights organizations by providing training, networking and resource sharing. HRCM has been participating in the activities of APF since 2004. APF has also assisted HRCM in conducting various training workshops in Maldives.

APF members represent a diverse range of countries across the Asia Pacific. According to the News Release HRCM is the 17th member of APF.
