Commissioner of Elections K.D. Ahmed Manik has left to South Africa on an official visit yesterday. Reports from the Commissioner’s Office say that during the official visit, the Commissioner would acquire information of party system management and on elections management strategies.
The purpose of the visit was part of strengthening institutional capacity to organize elections in the Maldives in a more efficient and effective manner.
The tour was organized with technical support from the South African Independent Electoral Commission.
Office of the Elections Commissioner reported that Deputy Commissioner Shaukath Ibrahim, Assistant Director General Mohamed Thalaal and members from the technical team of the Commissioner’s Office accompanied the Commissioner.
