Ibrahim Rasheed Vice President / Seenu Hithadhoo Branch of Dhivehi Rayithunge Party, DRP, have stated that in the forthcoming Presidential Elections, DRP will face some losses and difficulties because of former Attorney General Dr.Hassan Saeed’s resignation and suspension. Vice President Ibrahim Rasheed made the statement while speaking to Velidhoo Community news.
Vice President of Hithadhoo Branch of DRP said Dr.Hassan Saeed is from Addu Atoll and his resignation from Cabinet post and his suspension from party activities will have an effect. If Dr. Hassan Saeed joins another party then it likely that his followers, his family members, and well wishers might join him.
Vice President Rasheed further said “I joined DRP not because Dr. Hassan Saeed was a party member but because I felt that reform work can only carried out by joining DRP”.
When asked the question by VELIDHOO Community whether the party will faces any losses in the forthcoming Presidential election, without Dr. Hassan Saeed’s support, Vice President Rasheed answered “ as Saeed is from Addu Atoll, some losses is to be expected”. However he said those members who are working with the spirit of DRP will remain loyal and steadfast.VELIDHOO COMMUNITY
