Maldives Police Service has reported that a Police Family Association representation would be established in all atolls.
Reports say that the service is presently available in five islands and that it would be established in other islands in the near future. The main objective of such an association is to allow family members of police to actively participate and contribute to social work.
It also aims to establish closer ties and relations between family members. Special functions were held in islands to introduce the associations. Family members of police attended the functions.
More than 260 members have already requested to become members of the association and it is expected that more members would join the associations soon.
