President meets with foreign scholars

President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom last night met with the foreign scholars participating in the programme conducted by the Government to revive and renew the spirit of the holy month of Ramazan.

The meeting with the visiting foreign scholars was held at the Islamic Centre, shortly after the first meeting conducted under the programme to revive the spirit of the holy month of Ramazan.

President Gayoom extended a warm welcome to the scholars and reciters for participating in the programme to revive and renew the spirit of the holy month of Ramazan.

The scholars and reciters said that they were very happy to have had the opportunity to visit the Maldives to participate in this year’s programme to revive and renew the spirit of Ramadan. They thanked the President for the warm hospitality that the Government of the Maldives had accorded to them since their arrival in the country.
