Report: Soodh

Member of the Special Majlis for Thaa Atoll constituency Riyaz Rasheed has slammed the timing of the 11 member committee as the main reason for not being able to conduct the meetings.

He said that the meetings are organized between Maghreb and Ishaa prayers and it was the reason why he found it difficult to attend the meetings. He said that it was informed earlier that he would find it difficult to attend the meetings if it was organized at that time.

However, speaking to N.Velidhoo Community, MP Riyaz also said that other members did not attend the meetings due to their own reasons. He said that some members were not happy with the proceedings of the meetings.

Riyaz also accused the lack of leadership qualities of the chair of the 11-member committee as a huge failure to meeting the requirements of the committee. However, he did praised the election proceedings, saying that it was one of the most transparent and less influential elections to take place in the country.

He said that members of the committee were not happy with the way the chair of the committee Vaavu member Moosa Nizar handled the meetings.

11-member committee has failed to meet the required submission of the report regarding the August 18 referendum, which they were supposed to submit within two-weeks of the election.
