Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) will start a series of protests next Saturday, Chairperson Mohamed Nasheed (Anni) has said. He said this speaking in a press conference the previous day. He said that MDP is going to hold these protests as they feel that the vote taken on 18 August to choose the system of government was highly rigged. Anni said that the protest will start at 4:30 from the new harbor as usual and they will protest till they get a result from this. MDP said that the party's national council took this decision. MDP council member who is Special Majlis Meemu Atoll Member Ahmed Shafeeg (Sappe) said that the election's commissioner announced the results against the Majlis regulations. He also said that all senior members of MDP will take part in this protest. MDP President Dr. Mohamed Munvvar has said that they would not accept the vote taken on 18 of this month. Commissioner of Elections K.D. Ahmed Manik officially announced the results of this referendum via TV and Radio on Tuesday. There has been a dispute among the 11 member committee of the people's Special Majlis about this vote which has still not come to a conclusion.
