EU delegation visits Maldives

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that a 9 member delegation will arrive Maldives this morning.

Ministry informs that the objective of the EU’s visit to review the implementation of the Integrated Human Development Project coordinated by World Bank under the assistance of European Union.

The delegation include Julian Wilson, Head of European Union Delegation, Robert Evans, Chairman of the Committee on Transport and Tourism, Niruj Dheva, First Vice Chair of the Committee on Development, Jeromy Kolisek, Second Vice Chair of the Committee on Transport and Tourism, James Nickolson, Committee on Regional Development, Teresa Rhea, Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, Claudia, Director General of External Policies, General Secretariat of the EU Parliament and Zaaraa Penero, Program Manager.

Foreign Ministry informs that the delegation would visit Gan and Fonadhoo of Laamu Atoll to review the progress of the Integrated Human Development Program.

In addition the delegation is also scheduled to visit Hulhumale’ and hold discussions on the development projects underway in Hulhumale”.

Further an event organized by Open Society Association (OSA) will be held at Dharubaaruge on the 19 of this month. OSA informs that Mohamed Musthafa Hussain will open the event to introduce Robert Evans. Robert Evans will address the audience with a speech on the 21 Century Democracy. The Speech will be followed by a floor debate.

OSA informs that the event will be attended by leaders and members of all political parties, parliamentarians, government officials, key members of NGO’s and the media.

The event is will be held from 8 to 10 pm today at Dharubaaruge informs OSA.
