The President’s office has revealed that Government employees’ salary would be increased by 20% to 60% from this month onwards.
In an interview given to Miadhu Daily, the Executive Director of the President’s office, Hussain Amir said that the government employees would get the increased salary this month and the lowest ranked employees’ salary would be increased by 60% while the highest ranked employees’ salary would be increased by 20%.
Amir said that the chit which tells the employees of increment in salary is being sent to the government office and that work is going on now also. He said that this work would be completed within this week.
In response to the rumor that the salary of the armed forces would not be increased, Amir said that armed forces’ salary would not be excluded from salary increment.
As a lot of money had been allotted in the 2008 budget for salary increment, Amir said that there would be no employee whose salary would not be increased.
