Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the People’s Special Majlis Ibrahim Ismail, Ibraa has said that the drafting committee in its meeting yesterday completed 11 articles of the Chapter relating to the composition of the People’s Majlis.
Speaking to Velidhoo News, after the meeting yesterday, Ibraa said that fifteen members of the committee attended the meeting and contributed valuable inputs. He said that if the committee could maintain the quorum of the meetings, then the work could be completed.
Drafting Committee member Maariya Ahmed Didi also said that she was very satisfied with the progress of the committee meeting. She also said that all members who attended the meeting worked in the same spirit.
Earlier, in the Special Majlis meetings, members discussed and debated on the issue in which drafting committee fails to meet the quorum in many of its meetings. The committee will meet twice a week in order to expedite the work.
A letter was sent by the Speaker of the Majlis to the members of the drafting committee requesting to attend the meetings on a regular basis and to make sure that the work of the committee is accomplished on time.
He also mentioned in the letter that members representing the government offices would be relieved from the work in order to complete the drafting of the chapters of the constitution.
Majlis members have agreed to deliver the final constitution before November 30.
