Ministry of Planing and National Development has revealed that the economic survey is currently underway in Shaviani , Noonu and Raa Atoll. Ministry revealed that the survey will be carried out from 14 to 20 of this month at Funadhoo of Shaviani, Manadhoo of Noonu and Ungoofar and Maakurathu of Raa Atoll.
Ministry of Planning informs that the survey has already been completed in 12 atolls. They are Ha, Hdh, Baa, Lhaviani, Alif Alif, Adh, Thaa, Laamu,Ga, Gdh, Fuvahmulak, and Seenu Atoll. In this regard 2297 forms have been completed from this 12 atolls reveals the Ministry. Ministry further informs that survey will be completed in the remaining atolls within this month.
In Male’ information on the selected work places as well as listing of some residential blocks has been collected informs Planning Ministry. In this regard work is still continuing in Maafannu, Manchangolhi, Galholhu, and Henveiru and information of 71 blocks out 117 blocks has been collected says Planning Ministry. Further Planning Ministry says a second visit by the enumerators has been scheduled to take information on work establishments and households.
Planning Ministry says the objective of the survey is to determine the out put of the industries in the country and to assess the national GDP.
Information on types on industries, work sites, types of goods produced, number of employees, expenses incurred towards employees and capital investments will be collected says Planning Ministry.
Ministry of Planning and National Development has urged all concerned to extend the full cooperation to the enumerators and has thanked the general public for their support.
