- Political parties should be more mature than that: President

Talking to people on phone via TV and Radio the President said that we should not attack one another and try to kill them even though there are differences in opinion. Speaking on this behalf, the President said that “Political parties also have to be mature than that”.

The President said that everything will go according to the schedule in this visit and no programs are to be cancelled. He also said that his will and courage will not be weakened by such an attack saying “though people talk bad about me, 90% of Maldives doesn’t believe those talks”

Miadhu Daily have learnt that Mohamed Murusheed, 20 years of Kinaaraa/ Hoarafushi was the one who attempted to stab the President.

An eyewitness from Hoarafushi said that the President survived the attempt as a scout near obstructed the stab and suddenly held knife blade with his hand. The scout was Jaisham Ibrahim, 16years of Dhiveli/ Hoarafushi. Eye witness said that Jaisham’s hand was severely injured but now he is getting alright as he is being treated at the Health Center.

Mundhu also said that the scout who saved the President deserves thanks and said that the President would be stabbed on stomach if the scout did not obstruct.
