Awareness workshop on violence against women held

A workshop has been held in Fuvahmulak aimed at creating awareness on the acts of violence and other undesirable acts that are committed against women. The workshop was organized by Family and Children Service center of Fuvahmulak.

According to Fuvahmulaku Family and Children Service Center, the main topic of discussion at the workshop was the violence and undesirable acts committed against women and ways to prevent such acts.
“Information was given on the acts of violence against women and how the community views them” informs Family and Children Service Center of Fuvahmulak. The center further says such workshops will be held in the near future.

Workshop were participated by 15 members from the 8 wards of Fuvahmulak.

Foudation of the family and Children service Center of Fuvahmulak was laid last Thursday by the Deputy Minister of Family and Gender Ahmed Shareef. Gender Ministry reveals that 11 such centers have already been established in the country.
