President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom and the First Lady Nasreena Ibrahim have departed for Bali on an Official Visit. President is visiting Bali to attend the Joint High-level Segment of the 13th Session of the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC and the 3rd Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol.President Gayoom will deliver an Address at the Opening Session of the High-Level Segment, which will be held on Wednesday, 12th December 2007.
President Gayoom and the First Lady were seen-off at Male’ International Airport by the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Ministers, State Ministers, State Dignitaries, senior officials at the President’s Office and the Presidential Palace, Senior Officers of the Maldives National Defence Force and the Maldives Police Service and Senior Officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On this visit, the President’s delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid and the Maldivian Ambassador to Malaysia, Midhath Hilmy.
