6 injured police officers taken abroad

Maldives Polices Services have revealed that out of the 19 police officers who sustained varying degrees injuries, in the confrontation with breakaway religious fanatics in Himandhoo on Sunday, 6 police officers with more serious injuries has been sent abroad for emergency medical treatment. Police services also reveal that they were initially treated in Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The operation in Himandhoo conducted by Maldives police services was assisted by Maldives Defense forces. The operation was aimed to capture the 2 fugitives wanted in the investigation of the Sultan Park explosion which occurred on September 29. The explosion injured a dozen tourists.
