Adaalath meets Home Minister

Adaalath Party has said that they are willing to help the government in fighting religious extremisim in the country. Adaalath Party offered the assistance in a meeting with Minister of Home Affairs Abdulla Kamaaluhdeen.

At the meeting ,the Himandhoo clashes were discussed. Adaalath Party expressed their concern on the injuries sustained by members of Maldives Police, Maldives Defense and by the breakaway radical religious group and urged the Minister to treat those arrested in Himandhoo according to Islamic principles. Adaatath party also talked about the importance of using scholarly advice instead of force in solving such issues of religious beliefs.

Adaalath party told the minister that they are ready to provide assistance in matters of national security and religious unity to protect the peace and harmony that have always existed in our country.

Discussions were held on the formation of a separate institution with constitutional powers to protect the religious unity of the country.

Minister of Home Affairs Abdulla Kamaaluhdeen welcomed the constructive ideas suggested by Adaalath Party and assured Adaalath that he would forward these ideas to the respective authorities of the government.

At the meeting, Adaalath Party was represented by President of the Party Sheik Hussain Rasheed Ahmed and by Dr. Abdul Majeed Baari, Sheik Mohamed Didi, Sheik Mohamed Saleem Ali Saeed and Ali Naseem.
