Hussain Afeef Member for the Citizen’s Malis and Special Majlis for Thaa Atoll have been elected as the President of Parliamentary Group of Maldivian Democratic Party, MDP.
He was elected at the meeting of the National Executive Council, NEC, of MDP held last night. Election was conducted by secret ballot and was held among Members of Parliament affiliated to MDP.
Other positions of the Parliamentary Group of MDP were also elected at the meeting of the Executive Council.
Maria Ahmed Didi Member of the Citizen’s Majlis and Special Majlis for Kaafu Atoll was elected as the Vice President of the Parliamentary Group.
Ahmed Shafeeq Member of the Special Majlis for Thaa Atoll was elected as the Secretary General and Moosa Maniku Member of Special Majlis for Laamu Atoll and Member of the Special Majlis for Lhaviani Atoll Ibrahim Hussain Mohamed were elected as Whips.
MDP announced the election of Parliamentary Group at the Party’s General meeting held on the 26 September 2007.
