New FM service starts in November

The FM service of Far Away Holidays Pvt. Ltd, 96.6 Far Away FM will commence during November of this year. This was revealed by the company’s Secretary General Sim Ibrahim Mohamed.

Sim Ibrahim Mohamed speaking to Velidhoo said that final preparations are under way to commence the service in November.

“We are serving Male’ region only and we will be on air for 24 hours although at times we might have to disrupt the service for two to 3 hours; we will be sending mostly music programs especially rock music, in addition news, local news items as well world news especially business and financial news “ said Sim.

Sim also revealed that the service would be financed through advertisements and other business arrangements such as launching of products.

The station would be aired in 2 languages, English and Dhivehi.
Sim says training of human resources would be conducted to suit their purposes. In this regard staff would be trained to produce and present News and Current Affairs as well as programs on Business Affairs.

Sim further said that he have received offers from 3 foreign countries that have expressed interest in a joint venture operation. The proposals were from Australia, Sri Lanka and UK. Talks are going on with Sri Lankan and Australian parties and so far Australians seems to be ahead.

“I believe that it is possible to continue the service with 3 parties, Australian group has similar format like Far Away” said Sim.
