No word from Coordinator for all party talks

15 October 2007

The coordinator for all party talks having invited the parties to submit names of members to represent the party at the second round of discussions have not yet revealed any details. It is known that all parties except Maldivian Democratic Party, MDP, have already submitted names of those who would represent their party. MDP have declined the invitation saying that Coordinator is a member of the ruling Dhivehi Rayithunge Party, DRP, and therefore politically biased. MDP believes that the Coordinator for all party talks should not represent any party.

President of the Adaalath Party, Sheikh Hussain Rasheed says that the party has not yet received any word from the Coordinator. He noted that previous attempts to bring all parties to table for discussions were failures and this attempt by the Coordinator would be no different.
