2 fugitives wanted in the Sultan Park probe still hiding

The 2 fugitives wanted in the Sultan Park probe has not been found as yet say Maldives Police Services.

The 2 fugitives are Abdul Latheef Ibrahim, 24, Green Villa / Laamu Kalhaidhoo and Ali Shameem , 25, Dhoore / Shaviani Komandoo.

Speaking to Velidhoo News, Chief Station Inspector Mirufath Faiz said that search for 2 fugitives are going on in Male’ and Atolls.

He also said that in addition to Male’ and Atolls the search has been extended to likely countries where the 2 might be and said the search will continue till they are found.

16 people so far have been arrested in connection to the detonation. 5 have been released. 3 have confessed to carrying out the attack. They are Ahmed Naseer, 20, of Saadhunaa Manzil / Gaafu Alifu Kanduhulhudhoo , Moosa Inaz , 21, Finihiyaage / Laamu Kalhaidhoo and Mohamed Sobah,19, of Male’ Villingili. According Police Mohamed Sobah played the lead role in the making of the explosive device. Improvised Explosive Device,IED, was made in a guest house in Male’.

12 tourists were injured in the explosion including a British couple on honeymoon who had to be airlifted to UK for further medical treatments.
