fugitive seen in L. Gan

Abdul Latheef Ibrahim age 24 of Laamu Kalhiadhoo one of the 2 fugitives wanted in the Sultan Park explosion of September 29, will be apprehended within the next 24 hours says Senior Island Chief of Laamu Gan.

To confirm reports of sightings of Abdul Latheef in the forest of Laamu Gan, Velidhoo News contacted Senior Island Chief Abdul Wahaab who said “more than 70 people are searching for him in the forest and there is a high probability that Abdul Latheef will be apprehended within the next 24 hours”.

Senior Island Chief says that Abdul Latheef has been sighted two or three times on that island and as such he is very certain that fugitive is on the island.

“ One person believed to have provided food to Abdul Latheef have been questioned by Police, some say he has agreed to giving food to Abdul Latheef, there are others believed to have provided food to him too” says Chief Abdul Wahaab.

A person who saw Abdul Latheef in close proximity said that he has now shaved his head and eyebrows and was wearing a t- shirt said Abdul Wahaab. “Some say he wears a face veil at times, there are many on Gan who wears face veil” said Chief Abdul Wahaab speaking to Velidhoo News yesterday afternoon.

It is reported Maldives Police are conducting special seek out operations in Laamu Gan to hunt down Abdul Latheef Ibrahim. When Velidhoo News contacted media official of Maldives Police for any further information, they declined to make any comment.

It is reported Abdul Latheef Ibrahim’s family including his wife is residing in the Laamu Gan.
