UNDP to stop providing assistance

UNDP has revealed that it will stop providing assistance to those tsunami affected houses where work is no work is being carried out, under the Shelter Recovery Program. Under the Program 2073 tsunami affected houses have been recovered.

UNDP also states that due notice has been given to those parties who has taken the money to rebuild tsunami affected houses but where work is carried out and to those parties who has not taken the money so far , and that these parties are now responding. UNDP also says they are in the process of evaluating their responds.

Ahmed Nafiz Communication Officer of UNDP says that currently 828 houses in 21 atolls are under construction and that work of the Project will be completed by 15 November.
