Maldives has won the Best Islands Awards during Conde Nast Awards ceremony held in London on September 3, 2007. Maldives also emerged as the number three choice for Conde Nast Traveler reader’s award out of the world’s top 100 destinations.

In addition, One and Only Reethi Rah was named number one resort in the world. The resort was also announced the winner in two other categories: Favourite Overseas Leisure Hotel, Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean; and Favourite Hotel Spa, Worldwide.

Other Maldivian resorts that competed in the favourite Overseas Leisure Hotel category include Soneva Gili Resort and Spa, Huvafenfushi and Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. The winners, in categories including hotels, destinations, tour operators, airlines and cruise lines were chosen by readers of Conde Nast Traveler.

The Deputy High Commissioner of Maldives High Commission in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Mr. Adam Hassan accepted and received the award on behalf of Maldives Tourism Promotion Board.
