Minister of Information and Arts Uz Mohamed Nasheed has said that the ongoing rumor that part of the mandatory works of Attorney General’s Office would be given to the Information Ministry is totally untrue.
In his personal website, Uz Nasheed said that those stories are baseless and that the government has not made such a decision. Following the resignation of former Attorney General Dr. Hassan Saeed, Information Minister Uz Nasheed has been appointed temporary charge of AG Office.
Uz Nasheed also mentioned in the website that the government has already identified a replacement for Dr. Hassan Saeed and the portfolio would be given to that person when the President returns from the official visit to Jordan.
Suggestions that Uz Nasheed would become the Attorney General, he said that he is not willing to become the next AG. However, he said that he will continue the reform work under his Ministry at Information and Arts.
Earlier, the government has made appointments to the vacant Ministerial portfolios of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Justice following the resignation of the ministers.
