Report: Soodh
Two policemen who were attacked while on duty near Kalaafaanu School on Wednesday night have been taken to Sri Lanka to provide treatment.
Reports from Maldives Police Services say that two policemen were attacked by a group of people believed to be MDP representatives. Police were on duty in the area since there was a meeting of MDP at the school.
Further reports say that they received treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. However, medical officers have suggested that they should receive treatment abroad.
Police Family Association has strongly condemned the action by the group of people and attacking the police while on duty.
Investigation for the incident is presently underway.
