DRP has forwarded in excess of 100 serious complaints to the Elections Commission

Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) has forwarded a list of over 100 individual complaints to the authorities of the Elections Commission detailing incidents of voter intimidation across the country.

This list compiled by the lawyers at the DRP office, details comprehensive voter intimidation, threats and physical violence targeted at the supporters of the Presidential System. These incidents range from harassment of voters at the polling booth, physically preventing voters from accessing the voting booth and even cases where voters were threatened and beaten. DRP officers has taken details of such incidents and even taken photographic evidence.

Additionally DRP has compiled a catalogue of photographic evidence of supporters of the Parliamentary System in areas where they are totally barred and prohibited according to the published regulations of the Elections Commission and will be forwarding these too.

Additionally the DRP has also forwarded the list to the Police Commissioner and the Human Rights Commission.
