Maldives maintains excellent occupancy rates – minister

Minister of tourism Dr Mahmood Shaugy has said that the country’s tourism industry has been maintaining occupancy rates excellently this year. Speaking at a presentation of presidential awards to tourism held at Nasandhura Palace Hotel yesterday, Shaugy said that tourists keep on visiting the country as it offers premium services and that the country puts forth significant efforts to protect the beautiful and fragile environment in the country.

Moreover, according to Shaugy, promotional programs conducted by hoteliers play a major role in luring hundreds of thousands of tourists to the country.

In the ceremony held at the hotel, resorts were awarded for maintaining highest occupancy rates and environmental standards.
