DRP hits back at Dr. Munavvar

MDP President Dr. Mohamed Munavvar has no capacity to challenge DRP Leader Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, top DRP official who is also Chief Government Spokesman Mohamed Hussain Shareef, Mundhu has said in response to a news report in Miadhu daily on 9 August under the headline "MDP will go to a second debate only with DRP Leader".

Mundhu said DRP would not want to send their leader to face people with no moral values. " A person like Munavvar who does not have any capacity is enough for me, Mundhu to handle. We do not have to send our Leader". Mundhu said expressing his dissatisfaction. " Munavvar is only a figure head president elected in a very narrow electorate. He does not have a wide majority and capacity. But Leader Maumoon was elected with the support of hundreds and thosands of people. Maumoon is also elected from a party with much larger membership, with their support and this clearly indicate the wide difference in their capacity. I am more than enough to humiliate a figure head president like Munavvar". Mundhu further said.

Referring to Dr. Munavvar as a figure head president, Mundhu responded to MDP President with some abusive words. Mundhu's first definition of MDP President was, " A tissue paper thrown after wiping nose, do you take again to wipe the nose?" Mundhu said Munavvar is only a figure head under a dictator chairperson, and Munavvar has no capacity.

Mundhu elaborated three points why DRP Leader will not come for debate with MDP President. " First, we do not buy used commodity. Second, we do not use disposed used tissue. Third, We do not have to send our Leader to debate with people who have no moral standards."

Mundhu further said, " We do not want to talk or fight a wild animal. We do no want to send a president who has to maintain certain moral standards. I am ready to confront a wild animal. "

Whether Mundhu has spoken on behalf of his party or as Government Chief Spokesman, it is clear that Dr. Munavvar on Wednesday told media persons that MDP will go for another debate only with DRP Leader. Dr. Munavvar suggested media persons to organise such a debate. Munavvar also said that DRP Leader will not be able to particiape in debate on the system of government, because he does not know sufficiently on the two systems.
