MDP will use the opportunity to observe – Maria

Report: Jaxu

MDP’s spokesperson Maria Ahmed Didi has said that they will not loose the opportunity to observe the public referendum scheduled to be held on 18th August. Maria Ahmed said so while answering a question asked by Miadhu Daily regarding the government’s decision not to bring observers in the referendum on the system of government.

Maria Ahmed said that eleven members’ committee have given the task to the election commission but the government is always giving the priority for their own benefit.

“At first, the commission has decided to bring four observers, but now they have changed their decision. There is no point in changing the decision. MDP will use the opportunity if it is given to public parties,” said the spokesperson.

MDP and DRP along with IDP, Adhaalath, MSDP, MNC and PA are campaigning for the referendum which is to be held on the 18th of this month to decide on the system of future government in the Maldives.
